WAITING FOR PERFECTION

Uncategorized Oct 18, 2017

I hate to say "we all do this" because I don't like painting everyone with the same brush but the longer I work in my biz the more and more I see this story playing out. I am a super content lady with oodles of self-esteem. No one would ever accuse me of being under-confident. So how come I still have the "waiting for perfection" bug? If I believe in myself as much as I think I really and truly do why does this bug keep showing up? I believe that what I offer is fricking gold and I know my clients move mountains as a result of working with me but still this "waiting for perfection" bug has infected me and antibiotics simply don't do the trick!

So, let's put it out there and see if this resonates. And by the way I'm not going to say what everyone seems to say on this topic either - that we all suffer from procrastination and don't publish things because we don't think they're good enough - whether it's a website or a sales page or an fb ad or an online course. That's not what this is...

MY SUPER POWER

Uncategorized Oct 18, 2017

I love working on my clients' super powers and I realised that whilst I'm busy encouraging them to shout theirs from the rooftops I totally forgot to shout about my own!

So I wanted to share it with you!

Your super power is the wonderful gift you have that sets you apart from others in your niche. It's the thing that people mention when asked about you. It might be your manner and personality, it might be a gift or talent you have or it might be the fact that you're the only one does what you do.

One of my more obvious super powers is my high energy and enthusiasm for everything. When you work with me I'll keep you motivated and excited by your project even when your natural levels are on the low-side.
However, the super power that I really want to share with you here is how I write your copy with you. You see I focus on helping you be super super specific about your business and I also help you to write brilliant "client identifiers" that show your potential customers just how...

FB LIVE POINTLESS PAUSE

Uncategorized Oct 18, 2017

I've noticed a trend. I don't think I approve. I wonder if you've noticed it too. The long and boring pause at the beginning of a facebook live. Why oh why oh why? I understand the logic of course, they're waiting for an audience to grow before they launch into their topic of choice - but goodness me it's dull to watch!

I love going on Facebook live and I don't need an audience per se - I just love sharing my message and knowing that my tribe will see it when it's ready - I genuinely don't think of the "live factor" I place higher value on the fact that it's in my feed and it will resonate with the right people at the right time.

If you want to wait for the audience to grow then for goodness sake chat to your audience, introduce the topic and grow in momentum until you've reached your desired audience before you share the nuggets.

A good example are my facebook lives for my challenges - these are coaching calls and are scheduled in as an event within the programme. I...

JODEE ON A TUESDAY

Uncategorized Oct 18, 2017

Ooh I love a Tuesday. In my world that means it's my day off and I get to enjoy the whole day from start to finish with my little girl poppy. It also means no school run as my husband takes Sam to school and he gets the bus home.

Waking up naturally is so decadent cos it's so rare. I woke at about 845 to cuddles and love with the Popster. Knowing I have no real plans for the day is also decadent!

Poppy has her lovely pal Avaani pop over with her Mum for our weekly banana bread cook up and we mums get to drink tea and put the world to rights.

I realised while writing my mid year goals that buying my farmhouse in France to run totally fabulous biz retreats in was on hold until I relaunched my academy and so the excuse of it not being ready just wasn't cutting it anymore! So this afternoon I wrote out a full plan of the videos I'm going to record on Friday morning.

This has to happen without fail. You know when you're on pause in your biz because something needs to get done but a dozen...

THE ORDINARY PRINCESS

Uncategorized Oct 18, 2017

Goodness me this was my favourite book when I was a little pesky girl. It was a pearl of wonder amongst all the girly princess pink frothiness that girls were supposedto like. You see I never was one of those girls.

I had skinned knees and bruised shins and chipped nails (that probably had dirt underneath them).

My favourite clothes were warm and loose enough for me to be able to climb trees in. They were often mucky and a little torn but that was ok because play in my house meant real play - I truly never owned a tea set!

The Ordinary Princess was written by M.M. Kaye who you'll probably remember wrote The Far Pavilions (the film of which I adored as a child). This book had so many wonderful facets to it, I'll try to share as many as I can here for you to encourage you to go and buy the book to read to yourself and/or your daughter (who I hope has skinned knees and dirty nails too!)

Amy is christened Princess Amethyst Alexandra Augusta Araminta Adelaide Aurelia Anne of...

BIZ KONMARI

Uncategorized Oct 18, 2017

1. Clutter-free Emails
2. Bin all your receipts
3. Online Accounting
4. No More Filing
5. Be Cable Tidy

1. LET'S DECLUTTER YOUR EMAILS
Firstly - [email protected]  Please please please if you do one thing today, please ditch your generic email for a domain based one asap (if you haven't already), it looks far more professional and shows people that your business is planning on sticking around.

Decluttering your main email. This really should just be reserved for proper correspondence because we don't want to be inundated with social media updates and subscription emails sitting in amongst our real emails. So my way of handling this is to create a second email for your membership/subscriptions/purchases etc for all your logins - e.g. [email protected] this will keep your main email far less cluttered and mean that you now know that every email in your main account is actionable and needs a response instead of receiving twitter notifications every five...

1. Understanding your Target Audience

Getting inside your ideal client's head is crucial to understanding their needs and wants and ultimately their desires, and its their desires that we want to fulfil. So here's a little exercise for you, I want you to picture your most favourite client ever, think about why they're your favourite client, list the qualities that they have that make them attractive to you for example; they pay on time, they appreciate your value and they're fun to work with.

Now put yourself in their shoes and write a journal entry that goes really deep into their worries and concerns, think about what keeps them up at night, think about what they row with their partner about, think about the conversations they have with their friends and think about their inner drive and determination to achieve their...

GOAL SETTING

coaching tips and tools Oct 18, 2017

Working on your goals is one thing but if you're really going to make your goals work for you you need to get them in your day-to-day diary and acknowledge how each goal impacts the other areas of your life.

Ok beautiful people, this is a 5 step exercise. Print my superb Worksheet and lets get to work!

Step 1 - Read the sheet - I've written a five year plan but do what you need to do to suit your circumstances and life plan.

In order to complete the sentence at the bottom of the sheet, we start by closing our eyes and picturing the scene, how does it smell, what can you see, how do you feel, what are your surroundings like, immerse yourself in the scene and now open your eyes and start writing - most of us in the meeting on last night wrote more than one A4 side doing this bit so open your mind, enjoy the feeling and share on the paper everything (no editing please).

Now look through the scene and putstars by each statement that will involve an action...

FACEBOOK PIXELS

facebook tutorials Oct 18, 2017

I'm going to talk you through setting up a facebook pixel to gather audience data in your Facebook Ad Account to use when you're advertising your super biz. This is called "retargeting" and it's going to change your biz in five minutes!

By adding a Facebook custom audience pixel to your whole website your ad account will start to gather an audience made of all the people who visit your website - it's absolute gold for advertising as you know these people like your work! Do it even if you're not planning to start advertising quite yet because the data will be there for you when you are xx you can then use this data to target an ad to all the people who visited one particular page on your site - how awesome is that?! Imagine if I just wanted to advertise to the facebook users who visited these blog pages! I could do that!

Pop onto your FB page and if the FB page branding doesn't turn dark grey from the normal blue branding then its because you haven't updated your FB biz page to...

THE WONDERFUL CIRCLE OF IMPACT

Uncategorized Oct 18, 2017

Oooh goodness me I'm over excited! I've just had a phone call from my gorgeous cousin confirming how long they'll be joining us at our holiday house next week. I was hoping for a long weekend but they've managed to get a whole week away from work and will be joining us for five full days!

My heart is singing and I'm feeling so loved and cherished. Our tribe isn't just our fabulous business clients, you see, it's actually the sum of the whole generous and wonderful circle of our impact here on earth - it's the relationships we develop throughout our lives that really stand the test of time and nourish us.

Looking towards my holiday I'm busy busy this week in anticipation of having family time away. It's funny isn't it how we look forward to our time off and then have to paddle under water at a ferocious speed to clear our desks before our departure - goodness me we deserve the holiday when we finally set off!

This year we're thrilled to welcome our house-sitter Christa who I...
